East Oregonian Publishing Company Selects Bluefin Technology Partners to Power New Community Marketplace eCommerce Platform

Andover, Massachusetts, March 12, 2006 — Bluefin Technology Partners, LLC., a leading provider of print and online community marketplace solutions for the publishing industry, today announced that East Oregonian Publishing Company (EOPC) will use the company’s premier offering BluefinCMPTM (Community Marketplace Platform) to power their eCommerce strategy for increasing both print and online classified volume.

The new solution includes Bluefin Place Ad, which allows advertisers on the Web to place classified ads in all the newspapers’ publications and to post their ads online, all from one user experience. These ads could be for print only, online only, or a combination of print and online - each listing with its own “look and feel”. Powerful upsell features help drive classified revenue by giving advertisers tools to make their ads stand out.

The East Oregonian Publishing Company will use Bluefin Marketplace to host the effective and relevant search and display of online classifieds. Publication Web portals include:
Capital Press
• Coast Classified Marketplace (The Daily Astorian, Seaside-Sun.com, Coast Weekend, and Chinook Observer)
• Eastern Oregon Classified Marketplace (East Oregonian, Blue Mountain Eagle, and Wallowa County Chieftain)

Bluefin Command Center is used to manage all the set up and configuration, site statistics and reporting, and data feed import/export. Publishers can maintain their marketplace sites by making changes and updates to packages, pricing, scheduling, and other features in user-friendly self-service environment.

By deploying one marketplace solution for the entire group, EOPC can take advantage of unique cross-selling opportunities into multiple products, and also be able to aggregate their online classified content among all regional Web portals.

“Bluefin Technology Partners impressed us with its easy-to-use, multi-faceted interface from not only the customer perspective, but also the administrator vantage point,” said Laura Sellers, online director for East Oregonian Publishing Co. “Their solution combines print and Web ad placement, along with some whiz-bang online-only upsells that take advantage of the Internet marketplace. Bluefin simplifies our operation with offerings that cross media channels allowing us to improve our customer service and bolster our brand in print and online.”

We are delighted that the East Oregonian Publishing Company has chosen Bluefin to help further their success with local community marketplace initiatives”, said Rich Grover, founder and General Partner for Technology at Bluefin. “They are a perfect example of what makes local publishers the best destination for buyers and sellers. We look forward to this collaborative effort in building a great community marketplace platform.”
